Born and raised in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Gregory’s professional journey reflects both technical mastery and a deep respect for disciplined, hands-on work. He grew up in a large family in Fox Chapel and O’Hara Township, shaped by parents whose lives emphasized service, craftsmanship, and perseverance. His mother, a classically trained pianist for the Pittsburgh Ballet, later worked as a special needs teacher’s aide in the public school system. His father, a U.S. Navy veteran, spent his career as a copier service and repair specialist. Before entering the IT field, Gregory worked extensively in construction, hospitality, and agriculture. He spent several years as a general laborer, restaurant worker, and farmhand, eventually reaching the role of Assistant Farm Manager. These experiences instilled a systems-oriented mindset and strong work ethic that later translated directly into enterprise technology environments. In 1999, Gregory graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Computer Technology (Client Server Technology) from the Computer Learning Center, with transcripts held by the Pittsburgh Art Institute. He then embarked on a long and successful IT career spanning more than two decades. Throughout his professional life, Gregory has held numerous advanced technical roles including Oracle Developer, Oracle EBS Developer, OBIEE Developer, Oracle Reports and Forms Specialist, Performance Tuning Analyst, Data Warehouse Technician, Oracle Business Analyst, and Senior Oracle Enterprise Developer.
